Slightly off topic, because it's not about the technical aspect of guitars, but is there a good website or book you guys would recommend on how to learn music theory without it making you want to quit life?

This is what I get for not paying attention in high school.

Probably too late as this is an old post, but this guys theory book is good, written just for guitarists. http://www.justinguitar.com/en/PR-000-P ... eBooks.php

He only does it as an ebook at the moment which is a shame as it would be better to have a hard copy but it's worth getting. I also like his guitar lessons, he's the only online guitar teacher I've found so far who refers to the searing pain you go through when you first start playing too, and he gives you advice about this. Plus all his lessons are free and there's a good forum if you have questions.

Another thing too, when learning parts of music theory like tones and semitones and the circle of fifths (or "Note circle" as some people call it apparently) it's good to look at a piano too, as it's all laid out in front of you and it's easier to digest that way. You can see where there are no sharps and flats, it's a bit more complicated on guitar when you are first learning it.

Never really been a massive fan of Brian May's guitar, I think it's kinda ugly. But that's me.

Didn't him and his dad build it out of a fireplace and coal scuttle or something? Probably why
